I teamed up with my friend Alina Hibbert to create an Indoor Garden for the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, which was held in May 2026. We named our design ‘Back to Grandmas House’.
We set out to create a warm, cosy and welcoming space, reminiscent of a grandparents home where houseplants were a prominent feature. Heavily influenced by the interior decor trends of the 1970s, we included some contemporary features to give the design a modern twist.

Sustainability was a big consideration for this design, as was sticking to a limited budget, so naturally upcycling and re-use of materials were important. The majority of the furniture and fabrics were purchased from charity shops and online used goods sites.
After the show the plants and furniture were rehomed. All of the wood used in the construction was provided to us by the Bristol Wood Recycling Project, and was returned to them afterwards for further re-use.

We were absolutely delighted to be awarded a prestigious RHS Gold Medal for the garden, with the judges commending the many details included in our design as well as the interesting plant selection.
We also received the ‘Best Indoor Plant Garden’ award as well as the ‘Peoples Choice’ award, as voted for by members of the public visiting the show.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors and supporters, including:
